Hot Pink/Turquoise wedding cake

It's been a few weeks, but with the craziness of moving put aside I have found myself with a few minutes to add these pictures to the blog. This one is similar to an earlier post. The grooms cake was chocolate with buttercream icing with the logo made from gumpaste. I rolled out gumpaste, cut the shape out and once it was dried hand painted the logo onto the gumpaste.

Gumpaste Orchid & Roses

This cake was made for the Assistant to the President at Emmanuel School of Religion. She has worked for 27 years and this is a cake I was asked to make for a retirement party. There were also 2 double layer full sheet cakes (not pictured).
The orchids and roses were molded out of gumpaste and carefully pieced together.

Baptism Cake

I was asked to make this for our ward's Primary Baptism Fireside.

Bakery Sheet Cakes

These are the types of cakes that I have to make at work. As a general rule, a cake decorator must be able to completely decorate a 1/4 sheet cake within 10 minutes. That includes the base icing, roses, leaves, borders, and any writing. The last time I was timed while making a cake to those specifications was about 5 1/2 minutes.

Wedding Cake with Pink and Silver Accents

Unfortunately I didn't get to set it up as it was at a reception a number of hours away. It did however survive the trip. Too bad the only picture I have of it completed has a kid's head in the way.

Gumpaste Orchids

Ballerina Cake

This ballerina cake didn't turn out quite the way I had visualized, but she was still cute in the end. She sort of had a "Wallace & Grommit" face. Thanks to ExtraIcing for the people tutorial.
The cake itself has rounded edges (similar to how fondant looks) but is actually buttercream.
